The Clarkston Farmers' Market Gains
a new friend in Oxford Bank

On August 18, 2007, the Clarkston Farmers’ Market received a $1,000 gift
from Oxford Bank. The gift is part of an anniversary celebration marking 20
years of service in Clarkston. “One of our core goals is to support local
businesses,” said Co-Market Manager Anissa Howard. “How wonderful to be
recognized so generously by one of those businesses.”
By now, most visitors to the farmers’ market know that the market is run
by volunteers and financed by donations, basket sales, and in-kind gifts.
“This is a fortune for us,” said Co-Market Manager Chris Hardman. “Oxford
Bank has joined the long list of business and individuals who are directly
responsible for ensuring the future of the Clarkston Farmers’ Market.”
The Oxford Bank has operated continuously under local ownership and
management since opening for business in 1884. For more information about
the anniversary celebration, contact the bank’s Clarkston office at (248) 625-

The Clarkston Farmers' Market Receives
Community Enhancement Award

We are proud to announce that the Clarkston Farmers' Market has received
the
Community Enhancement Award from the Clarkston Chamber of
Commerce. Part of the nomination read:

“With this annual project, the Clarkston Farmers’ Market has been able to
enrich the Clarkston Community by highlighting the efforts of local
individuals. The Market has increased the amount of activity in the
community and created an opportunity for families and visitors to
experience an American hometown tradition. The development and success
of the Clarkston Farmers’ Market is a fine example of preserving the rich
tradition that the Clarkston area has been built on.”

This award belongs to everyone: the volunteers who run the market, the
vendors who sell at the market, the volunteer entertainers who set the
mood, and the people who shop there.
